Melton Foxes Junior Football Club was founded in 1985 by Chris Hill, Kath Ainge, Bill Traynor, Howard Roe and Mick Parker.
The club started with one team playing in the Coalville league at the under 13 age group, this team managed by Mick Parker.
Their home at this time was on Asfordby Road playing fields and Farrows Coaches were the clubs first sponsor.
In their first season Foxes finished as runners up in their league and in their second season Foxes again secured the runners up position in the league, reached the semi - final of the County Cup and won the League Cup.
Following this successful season and due to the manner of how the club was being run Melton Foxes Junior Football Club were invited to play in the Leicester youth league, to which the club agreed.
At this point the club decided to expand to aid the development of junior and youth football. They introduced their second squad, this being an under 11 team.
The original team was to be managed by Graham Parker and Chris Hill with Mick Parker and the late Steve Richardson managing the under 11 team.
The highlight for this second squad was winning Division 2 and securing a place in the League Cup final at what was then Filbert Street, the home of Leicester City Football Club.
Foxes unfortunately lost in the final to Ratby & Groby who had just won Division 1. They lost by 3-0 and this was played inn front of 3000 supporters.
Melton Foxes then continued to add squads at different age groups. This being made possible by the Saturday morning soccer school that Paul Wells developed about 10 years ago.
